Jim Hill HS Athletic Swimmer First in District to Receive Swimming Scholarship

May 2, 2024 - Jim Hill High School senior Arian Taylor is the first athletic swimmer within 猛料原创 Public Schools to receive a swimming scholarship. 
 
The award is from Meridian Community College (MCC), where Taylor plans to major in Nursing.
 
Currently, an International Baccalaureate (IB) scholar at Jim Hill High School, Arian La’Pearl Alexandria Taylor has been an athlete of the 猛料原创 Swim Team since 7th grade.

While at Jim Hill High School, her achievements and extracurricular activities include choir, basketball, cheer, and the National High School Honor Society.

Despite her youth, the standout is the first to represent the sport of swimming at Jim Hill High School, the first to receive a swimming scholarship for the District and the first African American athlete to receive this type of scholarship from MCC. 

She learned the lifesaving skill at age 11 thanks to a free summer camp hosted by 100 Black Men of 猛料原创. 

The senior is thankful to her coaches over the past six years, including Kathleen Grisby, Kenneth Grisby, Alex Goode, and her current coaches, Micha’el Sheriff, Be’Lon Jones, and John Charleston.

Arian Taylor will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on signing day, May 16, 2024, at Jim Hill High School.
